Programme Managers’ Assembly for the Elimination of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Jap Africa


Representatives from Chad, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda, along with companions, academia, researchers, donors, and officers of the three ranges of WHO (Africa Area, Jap Mediterranean Area, and headquarters) will assemble and launch the Strategic Framework for the elimination of visceral leishmaniasis in japanese Africa, 2023-2030. The assembly will happen from 11-13 June, in Radisson Lodge, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Visceral leishmaniasis is a deadly and outbreak-prone uncared for tropical illness. In 2019, the japanese African epidemiological sub-region surpassed different endemic geographies changing into the highest-burden focus of visceral leishmaniasis on the earth. As of 2022, it contributed 66% of the worldwide burden of the illness.
