CUT tutorial elected as new Chairperson of the African Languages Affiliation of Southern Africa Board
Dr. Mantoa Molete has confirmed herself as an distinctive tutorial and a real chief on the latest Worldwide Convention of the African Language Affiliation of Southern Africa (ALASA) held in Durban from 09-12 July 2024.
She was elected as the brand new Chairperson of the Board of the African Languages Affiliation of Southern Africa, which demonstrates her capabilities and the affiliation’s confidence in her.
Dr Molete is a Supervisor within the Division of Communication Science at Welkom Campus. Her management shall be instrumental in guiding the board, together with the editorial group of the South African Journal of African Languages (SAJAL), a journal of ALASA and a DHET-accredited journal printed by Taylor & Francis.
“I’m excited to be a part of this affiliation as it can help us in creating extra platforms and entry to reinforce our affect and contributions within the language fraternity, particularly on promotion of analysis in indigenous language growth, planning and insurance policies, that are the focal space of our analysis as an establishment,” she stated.
Her election marks a major milestone, as she turns into the third girl and the second black girl to guide the affiliation since its institution in 1979, which demonstrates the affiliation’s dedication to fairness and excellence.
