Beni. An assault by rebels affiliated with the Islamic State group has killed 15 individuals within the conflict-riven east of DR Congo, sources advised AFP on Wednesday.

The incursion by the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces) occurred on Tuesday within the village of Masau on the border between Beni territory in North Kivu province and Mambasa territory in Ituri province, the sources stated.

“Fifteen our bodies have been introduced on Wednesday to the morgue within the (close by) commune of Mangina,” one witness advised AFP.
