A Regulation pupil on the College of Abuja, Amra Onize Salihu, has emerged champion on the ninth Inter-Universities Speech Contest organised by the Intergovernmental Motion Group Towards Cash Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), held in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Amra, a 500-level pupil within the College of Regulation, represented Nigeria after successful the nationwide choice performed by the Nigerian Monetary Intelligence Unit (NFIU).
She defeated contestants from The Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Ghana to say the regional title, receiving the Winner’s Plaque, a Certificates of Honour, and a money prize of US$1,000.
A fellow 500-level regulation pupil, Abah Goodness Ojonoma, attended as an observer.
The director of the Regulation Clinic, Dr Nasiru Mukhtar coached the group, together with Mr J.R. Gogol of the NFIU, who offered technical teaching.
The vice-chancellor, Prof Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, mentioned he was pleased with the scholars’ performances.
