Obtain emblemFollowing the profitable outing on the inaugural West African Startups Awards in Niamey, Niger in 2021, the Directorate of Non-public Sector of the ECOWAS Fee holds preparatory assembly from June third to fifth, 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria. That is following the directive of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Authorities to carry the Awards Yearly.
Whereas welcoming contributors on behalf of Mrs. Massandjé Toure-Litse, Commissioner for Financial Affairs and Agriculture, Dr. Tony Elumelu, the Ag. Director of Non-public Sector of the ECOWAS Fee highlighted that the Startup Awards ignites innovation, collaboration, and digital entrepreneurship throughout the West African Area.
Dr. Elumelu added that “the imaginative and prescient is to create an ecosystem the place startups thrive, concepts discover fertile floor, and collaboration transcends borders”.
The ECOWAS Fee in partnership with different stakeholders inside the framework of selling digital entrepreneurship in ECOWAS area, organized the first West Africa Startups Summit in Niamey, Niger Republic from 18th – twentieth November 2021. Fifty-five (55) contestants participated within the competitors from eleven (11) ECOWAS member states. They had been awarded prizes of various classes with the highest three incomes USD 30,000: USD 25,000 and USD 15,000 respectively.
