The umbrella physique for the personal sector in East Africa has appointed Tanzania’s Adrian Raphael Njau as its appearing chief govt, changing John Bosco Kalisa of Rwanda, who has been on the helm for the previous three years.
In a press assertion, the board of the East African Enterprise Council (EABC) stated Mr Njau takes over with impact from July 12 when the appointment was made.
“The Board of the EABC has appointed Mr Adrian Raphael Njau as the brand new Appearing Government Director with impact from 12 July 2024. Mr Adrian Njau takes over from Mr John Bosco Kalisa,” the assertion reads.
The EABC board is chaired by Ms Angelina Ngalula of the Tanzania Non-public Sector Basis (TPSF), who has been the chairperson since June 2022.
“As Appearing ED, he’ll lead the EABC Secretariat workforce to implement the strategic plan in collaboration with EABC Nationwide Focal Factors, members and the enterprise group within the area. He may even work carefully with the organs and establishments of the East African Neighborhood Secretariat.”
Previous to this appointment, Mr Njau served as Commerce and Coverage Advisor to the EABC.
He holds a grasp’s diploma in worldwide commerce and a bachelor’s in economics, each from the College of Dar es Salaam.
He has skilled certifications and specialised coaching in commerce, funding, coverage and regional integration, together with in Switzerland, Singapore and Sweden.
“Adrian’s dedication to fostering an enabling enterprise setting in East Africa is mirrored in his work on capability constructing initiatives for companies to reap the benefits of commerce alternatives,” stated the EABC Board.
“He brings a wealth of expertise in selling public-private dialogue and formulating business-focused insurance policies to advance the EAC area’s integration agenda.”
Former CEO Kalisa took over from Peter Mathuki, who was appointed to the Arusha-based EAC Secretariat in 2021.
“I took over the EABC through the troublesome instances of Covid-19 when the EABC virtually collapsed and turned it into probably the greatest performing enterprise associations,” he stated.
“I’ve positioned the EABC on the highest stage and I need it to proceed to guide the EAC integration agenda and the EAC economies. I’ve created the required enterprise setting for the personal sector to thrive and develop.”
Mr Kalisa wished his successor effectively and suggested him to make sure that the EABC holds its annual normal conferences as required by legislation.
