French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday accepted the resignation of the Louvre Museum’s chief amid mounting strain over the museum’s current operations and safety breaches within the wake of the theft of treasured jewels from the museum in Paris.
Laurence des Vehicles resigned amid rising strain over the unresolved housebreaking in October through which thieves stole jewels valued at about $102 million from the Paris museum.
