I. INTRODUCTION

1. The Republic of Rwanda held its common elections from 14 to 16 July 2024 to elect a President and Members of the Chamber of Deputies.

2. The Chairperson of the African Union Fee (AUC), H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat and the Secretary Basic of the Frequent Marketplace for Jap and Southern Africa (COMESA), H.E Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe, deployed a joint African Union-Frequent Marketplace for Jap and Southern Africa Election Statement Mission (AU-COMESA EOM) led by His Excellency Jorge Carlos De Almeida Fonseca, Former President of Cabo Verde and Proper Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda and a Member of the COMESA Committee of Elders. The Mission management was supported by H.E Bankole Adeoye, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Safety (CPAPS). The joint Mission comprised of 48 Brief-Time period Observers (STOs). The observers have been drawn from African Ambassadors accredited to the African Union (AU), the Pan African Parliament (PAP), Election Administration Our bodies (EMBs), Unbiased Electoral and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from 16 African international locations which embrace Benin, Cabo Verde, Comoros, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was supported by the technical staff from the African Union Fee, COMESA Secretariat, the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) and two impartial electoral specialists.
